Two EFNI Breedings are Planned for Spring 2008. Glacier Point - CH.Woolfarm's Sasha Valhalla Icelandics - Skin-Deep's Katina

Update - April 7, 2008 Woolfarms Sasha was surgically insemenated in early April. Glacier Point anxiously awaits proof of pregancy.  Owner Xania Moreno also successfully imported the semen of Eyvinur fra Bjarkarlundi.  See pictures below.  Sasha's second litter will be out of "Vinur."  We at Valhalla look forward to both these litters as their offspring will allow for line breeding between both kennels in the near future.  Katina's breeding is still pending as of early April.

Glacier Point's          Woolfarms Sasha This breeding represents an outcross of pure Icelandic breeding to a Dannish bred male.  These crosses are known to produce outstanding puppies.  Efni will add bone and substance to Sasha's well balanced type.  Sasha has a gorgeous topline, lenght of leg and density of coat.  Efni compliments these assets and additionally offers an improved tailset and equivelent angulation.  One VERY important factor is Efni's color. He comes from a long line of solid colored animals. It is Xania's preference to breed away from the pied color.

Skin-Deep's Katina will be bred to Efni in the Spring of 2008

Valhalla Kennels is attempting the second breeding between Katina & Efni. AI will be used if necessary.  Efni is an older male with few breeding animals in the gene pool. For us, he  represents an outstanding cross between Dannish and Norweign breeding.  Much of Katina's pedigree originates in Denmark.  Many lines cross in the 4th through 6th generation.  These lines also cross with my new bitch Nakita as well as her grandfather Vinur.  Efni excels where Katina faulters.  It is hoped he will contribute his bone, chest and courseness of coat.  Katina has tremendous but soft density. Both dogs have good hindquarters and strong tailsets.  Katina is fleet of foot but could still use more layback of shoulder and reach, both of which Efni offers.  We have very high expectation of this litter.
