Introducing Belglens Skrytla "Samba"
It is my pleasure to introduce Belglen's Skrytla of Valhalla also known as "Samba."  This little girl arrived just after Thanksgiiving 2006.  She is out of Hnuks Pila making her the grand-daughter of the Icelandic sire "Aron."  Aron has a distinctive appearance that I wished to bring into my foundation bloodlines.  It is my hope to reproduce his tremendous coat, bone and type.  Samba clearly demonstrates  many of these attributes. Additionally, her breeding allowed me to "tap" several of the Icelandic bred dogs I have long admired including Hnuk's bitch Katla,  14 year old Tyr fra Husatoftum and Tofra Ljosalfur.  Samba is by Bleglen's Riddari. He is out of Fronar Ima Belglen (Iceland Import) and Tofra Ljosalfur a beautiful pied male.
Relatives Page
Samba arrives home after a long flight and settles in instantly. Just shy of 4 months, she is confident, quiet and as is easily seen she "owns" all the bones in the house.  Samba is by far the easiest dog I have acclimated into the household.
Samba at 4 months
Samba  is a very bright and challenging puppy. Sharon Schaefer and I co-own this girl.  She has exceptional temperment, being self-confident but never bossy.  She shows an unusual ability to focus at a very young age. Because she is an extreme pied, she isn't likely to be shown but she certainly is showing her affinities for other disciplines.

Her coat is slightly soft but very long and dense.  She has seal brown eyes, great ears and full double dewclaws.  Her tail is slightly open.  Her family index is good for hips.  Her mother has good hips and her sire fair.  Please see "relatives" page for more information.  Samba has great width of chest, ribs and loin without being to wide. She is agile and extremely quick.  I am anxious to give her a try at agility this fall!
